Essentially we offer two levels of pet insurance: our Essential Policy and our Advanced Policy. The main difference between the two is the level of cover for vet’s fees that you can get. With our Essential Policy you get cover for up to £4,000 per condition but for a maximum of 12 months for each illness, injury or disease. Our Advanced Policy is more comprehensive with cover for vet’s fees up to £6,000 per condition, with no time limit.

In addition, you can add on cover for advertising and reward or reimbursement of the purchase price if your cat or dog strays, gets lost or is stolen, pet boarding costs if you have to go into hospital, holiday cancellation cover if your pet is ill, third party liability cover for your dog, and overseas travel cover.

These include where you live, whether you have a cat or dog, their age and medical history. We will then come back to you with a suitable premium and, once confirmed, you and your pet will benefit from your Direct Line pet insurance (there is no cover for claims for any condition, symptom or event that happen during the first 14 days).
